This page is about me – Marko Akinaga. I’m an individual from Europe living in Japan.

You can read the reason why I made this website on my Mission Statement page of this website, as well as some of my personal experiences of the big tsunami here in Japan.

I’m a software developer using AS3 (ActionScript-3), MXML as well as Java (from Sun Microsystems – nowadays taken over by Oracle) to write code for mobile applications and also custom web based applications that live on servers.

Personally I prefer to code graphical applications for the client side, but I’m also active in server side programming. I have been writing source code for about 30 years now.

In the 1990′s I worked full time as a C/C++ programmer and also as a network technician in the telecom industry in Kista – known as the Silicon Valley of Sweden in Scandinavia.

I’ve been certified since 1998 and I like the freedom to be able to work from anywhere.

Except for my career as a programmer, I also work as a 3d graphics instructor teaching Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3dsMax. Currently I’m using Blender 2.62 for 3d modeling, animation, simulation, rendering and compositing 3d graphics with full HD video.

At the moment I’m learning my 6th language Japanese here in Japan. That’s what this website is mainly about. I share my experiences with you. The good, the bad & the ugly.
